Have you ever had those days, those weeks, heck, those months where you felt all of your creative mojo was on vacation somewhere in the rain forests, never to return?
Lately I’ve really been struggling with being creative, with feeling creative, with creating. And that bothers me. A lot. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve never been the “crafty” creative type. I don’t sew, knit, make crafts, scrapbook, or even paint. But I love to design websites, I love to create with words – either writing or singing – and I love to be creative by making music. So creativity for me usually looks like a well-crafted blog post, a new song, writing a lesson to teach, or designing a website.
However, over the last 6 months I have felt the most non-creative in my life. And because I feel that way, it’s hard to be creative when a small thing comes along that you could knock out on a good day in just a few minutes. I look at it and go, “Meh.” Yeah. Sad, right?
So how do I get those creative juices flowing again? How do I stir up the passion and the drive to create in the ways that are the most natural to me? I’m not sure, but I’d love to hear any thoughts you may have.
- Have you ever experienced creativity burn-out?
- If so, how did you combat it? How did you turn it around?
I look forward to hearing from you! Please share!
