Hello There!

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  So this is the page where I tell you a little bit about me and my family, right? Right. Here goes!

It all started waaaaaay back in 1971 on a farm in rural Kentucky. . . Don’t worry.  I’m not going that far back (although I was raised on a rural farm in Kentucky and I was born in 1971 . . . ).

I’m 46. Getting really close to 50.  That feels weird to me because in my brain, I’m still around 30 – so let’s go with that.  😉

I have an amazing husband, Shannon.  We’ve been married 14 years and it has been one heck of a journey!  We started out learning to navigate through some really hard things — I was divorced and had a child, he came from a divorced family, and other things too lengthy to mention in this welcome — but God was so faithful!  Our marriage is nothing short of a miracle and is so full of life and love and laughter and a mutual respect.  So. Good.

I’m also mom to two beautiful gingers.  Haley is 21 and about to become a nurse! She lives in Charleston SC.  Zoe is 11 and a middle-schooler here in Waynesville.

Yep.  We live in the mountains of western North Carolina – the Blue Ridge, the Smokies – and we love it!  God called us here over 3 years ago to plant a church.  We’re still settling in to the community and figuring out everything, but we are excited about what God is doing in this area.  You can read our church plant story and move over on our church website.

Papa has been doing some amazing things in my life – healing my heart and changing my attitude about myself and about others, really.  I’ve been learning to love me, stop comparing myself, stop judging others and lots of other crazy, cool things!  I’m trying to compile it all in a book – From Martha to Mary – but that’s been slow-going.  Mostly because it SCARES ME TO DEATH TO WRITE A BOOK OH MY GOSH.  Ahem.

So there’s that.

Thanks for stopping by!  Browse my archives or just catch up on the latest post.  And hey!  If you wanna chat with me about things you’re going through – things you need to work out, pray through, get counsel on – I’m available to do that.  You can check out these pages for more info:  Prayer Ministry | Counseling.
